Our Mission

Friends of Agassiz exists to support Louis J. Agassiz Elementary School in providing a high-quality education to its students and revitalizing the school for the benefit of students, faculty, and surrounding community.

We have three goals:

  1. Raise funds for current and future financial needs of the school.
  2. Foster parental and community involvement in the school.
  3. Help Agassiz improve its image with the surrounding community.

To acccomplish these goals, we carry out the following key activities:

Goal 1: Fundraising

  1. Re-establish and maintain "Friends of Agassiz" organization and account.
  2. Hold specific fundraising events
  3. Establish ongoing fundraising activities (Target credit card, box tops for education, etc.)

Goal 2: Parental and Community Involvement

  1. Expand baby and toddler activities offered by the school (Story Time, Toddler Soccer, etc.)
  2. Communicate volunteer opportunities to parents and the community
  3. Support outreach events (open houses, tours, school fairs, etc.)
  4. Outreach to business and community members

Goal 3: Image Improvement

  1. Update and expand school Web site
  2. Conduct public relations and marketing activities
  3. Encourage parents to consider applying and enrolling their child at Agassiz
